Aspire Privacy Notice (Adults And Children)

Aspire Dental collects and uses your personal information so that Dr Raheel Malik and Dr Richard Porter can provide safe, appropriate dental care and meet legal and regulatory requirements

This includes contact details, medical and dental history (including X‑rays and photographs), details of your treatment and costs, correspondence with other healthcare professionals, and any complaints or consent records.

We use this information to plan and deliver your care and to maintain accurate records. Our legal bases include your consent, our legitimate interests in providing your care and defending legal claims, and specific provisions for health data under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

We only share information when necessary and securely, for example, with other healthcare professionals involved in your care (such as your GP, specialists or laboratories), or with regulators, insurers or other bodies where required by law (including the General Dental Council and the CQC and equivalent bodies in other UK nations).

Your records are stored securely on our practice systems (including our dental software), which are regularly backed up and may be held off‑site. Dental records, X‑rays and study models are kept while you are a patient and for at least 15 years after you leave (or, for children, 15 years or until age 25, whichever is longer). Other documents are kept according to our retention schedule.

You have rights over your data, including to access a copy, request corrections, ask us to erase or restrict use of your information (where legally possible), and request that your records are sent to another dentist.

If you have any concerns, please speak to the practice team or contact the Data Protection Officer (details available from reception).

You can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF, helpline 0303 123 1113, or use their live chat service.
