Precision implantology for lasting tooth replacement
About This Treatment
What are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is a small titanium post — surgically placed into the jawbone — that permanently replaces the root of a missing tooth. Over a period of three to six months, the post fuses with the surrounding bone in a process called osseointegration. Once integrated, a custom ceramic crown is attached on top, creating a replacement tooth that looks, feels, and functions exactly like the one it replaces. There is no visible hardware. No removable component. No reliance on adjacent teeth.
Unlike bridges — which require adjacent teeth to be permanently prepared and crowned — or dentures, which rest on the gum surface and can move or require adhesive, a dental implant is entirely self-supporting. It preserves the jawbone, prevents the facial changes that follow tooth loss, and provides a bite force indistinguishable from a natural tooth. For patients who want a permanent solution and are prepared to invest in it properly, an implant is unambiguously the best available option.
"The implant we place today should be indistinguishable from a natural tooth. That is the standard we hold ourselves to."
Is This Right for You?
Is a Dental Implant Right for You?
You have a missing tooth Whether from extraction, injury, or decay — an implant replaces the entire tooth, root and all, permanently.
You've been told a bridge is your only option Patients who previously weren't suitable for implants may now qualify — bone grafting can create the conditions needed.
You want a permanent, maintenance-free solution Unlike bridges or dentures, implants require no special products, no removal, and no ongoing adhesive.
Your denture is uncomfortable or insecure Implant-retained prosthetics are permanently fixed and function like natural teeth — no movement, no adjustment.
You're concerned about bone lossImplants actively preserve jawbone density by stimulating the bone, preventing the facial changes that follow tooth loss.
You want a natural-looking result A shade-matched ceramic crown is indistinguishable from your natural teeth — even to your own tongue.
You've had a bad experience with previous tooth replacement Many patients come to Aspire having been disappointed by ill-fitting or uncomfortable previous restorations.
You want to protect your remaining teeth Leaving a gap allows adjacent teeth to drift; an implant fills the space and maintains the integrity of your bite.

Step by Step
Your Implant Journey
Consultation & Assessment
A comprehensive evaluation including 3D CBCT imaging, digital X-rays, and a full review of your medical and dental history. We assess bone volume and density, gum health, and bite alignment to determine your precise suitability and develop an individualised treatment plan — presented to you in writing at the same appointment.
Implant Placement
Under local anaesthesia, the titanium post is placed precisely into the jawbone. The procedure is carefully choreographed — unhurried, accurate, and more comfortable than most patients anticipate. A temporary restoration is commonly fitted on the same day so you leave with a complete smile.
Osseointegration
The titanium post gradually fuses with the surrounding bone — a natural biological process that creates the permanent, load-bearing foundation your crown will depend on. We monitor progress with check-up appointments and confirm complete integration before moving to the final stage.
Crown Fitting
A custom ceramic crown — precisely colour-matched to your adjacent teeth — is attached to the implant via a small abutment component. The result is immediately functional. Most patients find it impossible to identify their implant by sight or sensation within days of fitting.
Annual Review & Maintenance
Annual review appointments, hygiene maintenance, and direct access to your implantologist protect your investment for life. Long-term implant success is closely associated with structured professional care — we make it easy.
Patient Voices
What Our Patients Say
I'd been told a bridge was my only option because the adjacent teeth weren't strong enough. Aspire assessed me properly — I had enough bone for an implant. The whole process took seven months from consultation to crown. The result is genuinely perfect. I can't tell it's there.
Patient Voices
What Our Patients Say
I had a denture for four years that I hated. The implant at Aspire cost more, and it was absolutely worth every penny. The difference in my confidence — eating in restaurants, speaking clearly — is something I didn't realise I'd been compromising on until it was fixed.
Patient Voices
What Our Patients Say
As a dentist myself, I know what good implant work looks like. I chose Aspire for my own treatment because their use of guided surgery and Straumann implants matches the standard I would want for my own patients. The outcome is exactly what I'd hoped for.
Common Questions
Common Questions About Dental Implants
-
How long do dental implants last?
With proper care and regular professional hygiene appointments, dental implants can last a lifetime. The titanium post integrates permanently with the jawbone and does not decay. The ceramic crown typically lasts 15–25 years before potentially needing replacement, depending on its position in the mouth and the forces it is subjected to.
-
Are dental implants painful?
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia — you will feel pressure and movement throughout, but not pain. Post-operative discomfort is typically mild, described by most patients as comparable to a tooth extraction, and is well managed with standard over-the-counter pain relief. The majority of our implant patients tell us the experience was significantly more comfortable than they had anticipated.
-
What is osseointegration and how long does it take?
Osseointegration is the natural biological process by which the jawbone fuses with the titanium implant surface, forming a permanent bond. It typically takes 3–6 months, depending on bone quality, implant position, and individual healing. During this period, a temporary restoration is usually in place, and the process requires no active participation — bone cells simply grow around the implant over time.
-
Am I suitable for dental implants?
Most healthy adults with sufficient jawbone density are suitable. Key factors include bone volume and quality, gum health, and the absence of uncontrolled systemic conditions. Smoking reduces success rates, though implants remain achievable. A CBCT scan at your consultation gives us a precise, three-dimensional picture of your anatomy. Patients who have previously been told they are unsuitable may still qualify — bone grafting and ridge augmentation can often create the conditions needed.
-
Can I have implants if I've had bone loss?
Yes, in many cases. Bone grafting — using either synthetic bone substitute or bone harvested from another site — can rebuild areas of insufficient volume. Sinus lifts address bone loss in the upper posterior jaw. These procedures add time to the treatment pathway but make implants possible in cases that would otherwise be unsuitable. Your CBCT scan will determine exactly what, if anything, is required.
-
How much do dental implants cost at Aspire?
Single implants start from £2,800, which includes the CBCT assessment, implant post, abutment, and ceramic crown. Additional costs may apply for bone grafting or ridge augmentation. All fees are presented in a written treatment plan before you commit to any treatment. We offer 0% interest-free finance on treatments over £1,000 and can provide documentation for private dental insurance claims.
-
How many appointments will I need?
Typically four to six appointments across a six to twelve month period: consultation and assessment; implant placement surgery; one or two review appointments during osseointegration; crown fitting; and a final review. Patients with bone grafting requirements will need additional appointments. Your full treatment schedule is mapped out at your consultation.
-
What is the difference between an implant and a bridge?
A bridge is a fixed prosthetic that spans a gap by being cemented onto the prepared adjacent teeth on either side. It does not replace the root, does not prevent bone loss beneath it, and requires irreversible modification of adjacent healthy teeth. An implant replaces the root directly, preserves bone, and leaves adjacent teeth completely untouched. If the adjacent teeth are healthy, an implant is almost always the clinically superior option.
-
How do I care for my implant?
Exactly as you care for natural teeth: brush twice daily with a soft brush, clean between the implant and adjacent teeth with interdental brushes or floss, and attend regular professional hygiene appointments. There are no special products required. Annual review appointments at Aspire allow us to monitor the health of the periimplant tissues and address any changes early, which is the most reliable predictor of long-term implant success.
-
Do you offer implants on the same day as extraction?
Immediate implants — placed at the time of extraction — are possible in selected cases where bone quality and gum health meet the required criteria. They are not suitable for all patients. Your consultation and CBCT scan will determine whether immediate placement is appropriate for you. Where it is not, we plan the optimal timing for placement after the extraction site has healed sufficiently.
