What Is This Treatment?
What Is Exosome Therapy?
Exosome therapy is the most advanced development in regenerative aesthetics available today. Exosomes are extracellular vesicles naturally produced by stem cells, carrying within them growth factors, proteins, lipids, RNA, and signalling molecules that direct cellular behaviour. In aesthetic medicine, laboratory-derived exosomes are delivered into the skin, where their cargo of bioactive molecules triggers a cascade of regenerative activity: collagen and elastin synthesis, cellular repair, reduction of oxidative stress, and restoration of skin barrier function.
At Aspire, we offer exosome therapy as our most sophisticated skin rejuvenation option — reserved for patients seeking the deepest level of regenerative intervention, or those whose skin has not responded fully to other modalities. It is particularly transformative for prematurely aged or severely photodamaged skin, for accelerating recovery from ablative or energy treatments, and as the most advanced upgrade to a micro-needling protocol.
Exosome therapy does not freeze muscles, fill voids, or mask ageing signs. It works at the most fundamental biological level — restoring the skin’s capacity to repair and renew itself. The results are progressive, layered, and genuinely transformative: not a different version of your face, but the best biological version of your own skin.
“Beyond treatment — cellular intelligence that teaches your skin to be young again.”
Ideal Candidates
Is Exosome Therapy Right for You?
Exosome therapy represents the most advanced regenerative treatment in our aesthetic range. The following indicators suggest you may benefit from a personalised exosome protocol.
All suitability is confirmed at an initial consultation with our aesthetic practitioner, who will evaluate your skin condition, treatment history, and objectives to determine whether exosome therapy is the optimal approach.
- Wanting the most sophisticated skin rejuvenation available Exosomes deliver hundreds of coordinated regenerative signals simultaneously — growth factors, microRNA, peptides, and lipids — triggering multi-dimensional biological improvement no single-pathway treatment can replicate.
- Seeking to accelerate recovery from ablative or energy-based procedures Applied immediately following CO₂ laser, radiofrequency, or aggressive peels, exosomes dramatically reduce inflammatory downtime and enhance the final result of the primary treatment.
- Addressing under-eye deterioration with the most advanced non-filler option Regenerative signals delivered where skin is thinnest and most vulnerable — reducing dark circles, crepiness, and fine lines through genuine tissue repair rather than volumising.
- Finding that previous treatments have plateaued in their results When micro-needling, peels, or other modalities have reached their ceiling, exosomes elevate the protocol to a fundamentally different level of cellular response.
- Experiencing progressive hair thinning and seeking advanced non-surgical intervention Mesotherapy delivery of exosomes to follicular units represents the most biologically advanced scalp treatment available — suitable for both men and women.
- Living with sensitive, reactive, or barrier-compromised skin The anti-inflammatory and barrier-restoring properties of exosomes make them uniquely suitable for skin that has lost its natural protective capacity or struggles to tolerate other treatments.
Your Journey
Your Exosome Therapy Journey
Advanced Consultation and Skin Assessment
Exosome therapy is a premium intervention and your consultation reflects that depth. We conduct thorough skin analysis — evaluating tissue quality, damage patterns, inflammatory status, barrier function, and your complete treatment history. We discuss your goals in detail, explain precisely how exosomes work, and determine the optimal delivery protocol for your specific skin profile.
Protocol Design
Protocol selection is critical to outcome quality. Options include: topical infusion via micro-needling, where exosome serum is absorbed through micro-channels into the dermis; mesotherapy micro-injections delivered directly into the dermis for precise, deep delivery; or post-procedure application immediately following laser, radiofrequency, or chemical peel to accelerate healing and enhance outcomes. Most patients benefit from a course of 2–4 sessions. We explain recommended frequency, realistic timelines, and full pricing.
Pre-Treatment Preparation
Skin is thoroughly cleansed and all makeup and SPF removed. For micro-needling delivery, topical numbing cream is applied 20–30 minutes prior. For mesotherapy injection, numbing may or may not be required depending on patient preference and treatment area. For post-procedure application, no additional preparation is needed beyond the primary treatment.
Delivery Treatment
Micro-needling protocol: needling is performed first at optimised depth (typically 1.0–2.5mm). Immediately following, exosome serum is applied generously and massaged into the treated skin — the micro-channels allow delivery deep into the dermis where exosomes access fibroblasts and trigger their signalling cascade. Mesotherapy protocol: using ultra-fine needles, exosome solution is delivered via systematic micro-injections across the treatment area. Post-procedure protocol: exosome serum is applied topically with gentle massage immediately following the primary treatment, with penetration dramatically enhanced by the open skin surface.
Immediate Post-Treatment
Following micro-needling delivery, skin will be red and warm — similar to moderate sunburn. We apply calming, healing serums and may follow with LED red light therapy to accelerate initial recovery and enhance exosome activity. Detailed aftercare instructions are provided along with a written summary to take home.
Results Development
The exosome regenerative cascade unfolds over weeks and months. Many patients notice an early improvement in radiance and hydration within the first week. Structural changes — firmer, smoother, more resilient skin with improved texture and tone — develop over 4–12 weeks. Results can continue improving for up to 6 months after completing a course, reflecting genuine biological change at the cellular level.

The Biology of Exosome Regeneration
-
What Exosomes Are
Exosomes are nano-sized extracellular vesicles (40–150nm in diameter) secreted by virtually all living cells. Their biological role is intercellular communication — carrying signalling molecules from one cell to another, directing behaviour, repair, and regeneration. Stem cell-derived exosomes are particularly rich in regenerative cargo. In aesthetic medicine, laboratory-derived exosomes from validated sources deliver this signalling machinery directly into the skin.
-
Exosome Cargo: The Regenerative Payload
Each exosome carries a sophisticated payload: growth factors (EGF, FGF, VEGF, TGF-β) that direct collagen synthesis and tissue repair; microRNA that regulates gene expression in recipient cells, switching on regenerative programmes; proteins and peptides that serve as structural building blocks; lipids that support skin barrier restoration; and mRNA that provides translatable templates for specific repair proteins. This complexity is why exosomes surpass individual growth factor serums — they trigger hundreds of coordinated pathways simultaneously.
-
Mechanism in Skin
When delivered into the dermis, exosomes are taken up by fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and other skin cells through endocytosis. Their cargo is released inside the recipient cell, triggering coordinated regenerative activity: increased collagen and elastin production, enhanced cellular energy, reduced oxidative stress, and improved intercellular communication throughout the treated tissue. This multi-pathway activation is what produces the multi-dimensional quality improvement that distinguishes exosome therapy.
-
Product Integrity and Safety
We use only rigorously validated, pharmaceutical-grade exosome products from manufacturers with robust safety data, established quality controls, and peer-reviewed clinical evidence. All products are stored according to precise pharmaceutical protocols and are fully traceable to source. We do not use unverified or novel exosome preparations — patient safety standards are non-negotiable. Published studies demonstrate measurable improvements in skin elasticity, hydration, collagen density, and wound healing speed.
Results at the Cellular Level
“I had CO2 laser previously at another clinic, and the recovery was brutal — two weeks of significant downtime. At Aspire, they applied exosomes immediately after my treatment. The difference was remarkable. I was red for four days rather than two weeks. And the result was genuinely better than my previous laser.”
Results at the Cellular Level
“My micro-needling results had plateaued after six sessions. Adding exosomes to the protocol was transformative — the improvement from one exosome session was equivalent to my previous three treatments combined. The skin quality change was unmistakable.”
Results at the Cellular Level
“Years of sun damage had left my skin looking dull and aged beyond my years. After a three-session exosome course, colleagues started asking whether I had been on an extended holiday. The texture, the glow, the firmness — everything improved. It is the treatment I would recommend to anyone who has tried everything else.”
Results at the Cellular Level
“Started scalp exosome treatment for hair thinning that had been worsening for several years. Six months later, the thinning has significantly slowed, density has improved, and my scalp feels healthier. My dermatologist commented on the change. For something non-surgical, the results exceeded anything I expected.”
Common Questions
Exosome Therapy Questions
-
What makes exosomes different from polynucleotides and Profhilo?
All three are regenerative, but they work at different levels. Profhilo is hyaluronic acid-based, primarily providing deep hydration and bio-remodelling through HA’s biological effects. Polynucleotides are DNA fragments that activate fibroblasts and provide cellular building blocks through receptor-mediated pathways. Exosomes are intercellular signalling vehicles carrying hundreds of bioactive molecules — the most complex and comprehensive regenerative stimulus available, triggering coordinated cellular responses no other treatment can replicate. They are complementary, not competing — many patients benefit from a layered programme using all three.
-
Are exosomes safe? How established is the treatment?
Exosomes have been studied in regenerative medicine for over a decade, with thousands of peer-reviewed papers documenting their biology and therapeutic applications. In aesthetics, clinical use has grown significantly over the past five years, with a robust and expanding evidence base. We use only validated, pharmaceutical-grade products from manufacturers with documented safety data and quality controls. As with all aesthetic treatments, practitioner expertise, product provenance, and patient selection are the critical safety variables — all of which we take seriously at Aspire.
-
Does exosome therapy hurt?
Delivered via micro-needling, the sensation is the same as standard micro-needling — manageable with topical numbing, typically rated 2–4 out of 10. Mesotherapy delivery involves brief pinching from multiple fine injections; most patients find this well-tolerated. Post-procedure topical application involves no additional discomfort beyond the primary treatment. Overall, exosome therapy does not add meaningful discomfort to whatever delivery method is used.
-
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients see transformative results from a course of 2–4 sessions for facial rejuvenation. For post-procedure enhancement, a single application immediately following the primary treatment is standard. For hair rejuvenation, 4–6 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart is typically recommended. We design your specific protocol at consultation based on your concerns, skin condition, and goals.
-
When will I see results?
An early improvement in radiance and hydration is often noticeable within 5–10 days. Structural changes — improved texture, firmness, and tone — develop over 4–12 weeks as the regenerative cascade unfolds. Results can continue improving for up to 6 months after completing a course, reflecting the ongoing nature of the cellular renewal that exosomes trigger. The transformation is progressive and genuine, not instant.
-
Can exosomes be combined with all other treatments?
Yes — and this versatility is one of exosome therapy’s greatest strengths. They significantly enhance micro-needling outcomes, accelerate recovery from laser and radiofrequency treatments, work synergistically with polynucleotides and Profhilo, and complement any injectable programme. Appropriate spacing between certain treatments is required — we advise on optimal sequencing during protocol design.
-
Is exosome therapy suitable for sensitive or reactive skin?
Yes — and it is particularly well-suited to compromised skin. The anti-inflammatory properties of exosomes help calm reactive skin, restore barrier function, and rebuild resilience. Patients with sensitised, rosacea-prone, or chronically stressed skin who have struggled to tolerate other treatments often respond exceptionally well to exosome therapy. The barrier-restoring action makes it uniquely appropriate for skin that has lost its natural protective capacity.
